Samsung Galaxy S9 would be launching Jan 2018

The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 was announced just a few days back and is all set to go on sale starting from September 15 in the global markets. While the sale of this device is imminent, it looks like the rumors and speculations regarding the Galaxy S9 have started coming up.



It could be too early to speculate regarding the Galaxy S9 as it is slated to be launched in the first quarter of 2018. Now, a recent report that has hit the web from The Korea Herald has tipped that the Galaxy S9 could be launched in January, which is pretty earlier than the schedule. The report cites the prediction by the part makers for an advanced launch. 

If the speculations are something that we should go by, Samsung will start shipping the OLED display panels for the smartphone by November. Since the panels will be shipped before the other accessories meant for the device, it is likely to happen two months before the projected launch of the device. 

From the information that we have on hand right now, the Galaxy S9 is believed to be codenamed as Project Star. Also, the upcoming flagship smartphone is said to feature the QHD+ Super AMOLED Infinity Display with the same screen size and 18.5:9 aspect ratio as we saw on the Galaxy S8. 

The recent reports have tipped that the Samsung Galaxy S9 will arrive with 4GB RAM, which is the same that we saw on the Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8+, Galaxy S7 and S7 edge. The report further states that the smartphone will also arrive with a dual camera setup at its rear as the Galaxy Note 8 came with such a camera arrangement. Besides these, the smartphone is likely to feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC and a modular design as well, claim the recent reports.

After the launch of the LG Q6 in India, the company is likely to be all set to release the upgraded variant - the LG Q6+ in the country in early September. Jio feature phone pre-booking suspended on high demand

Reliance Industries has suspended the pre-booking of its newly launched 4G VoLTE feature phone, JioPhone, till further notice after demand for the device far exceeded the target of making available 5 million phones a week. “The customers can, however, register their details but we are not taking any pre-booking as of now,” said a person familiar with the matter. A message on Jio’s website – uploaded on Sunday – reads that the customers will be informed when the company resumes pre-booking. RIL and Reliance Jio Infocomm didn’t respond to an email seeking comment. The Mukesh Ambani-led firm had also offered customers the option of booking the device through the offline channels through Jio retailers and multi-brand device retailers, including the Reliance Digital stores network.
