APK stands for Android package kit. This is a file format that is used by the operating system in Android for the installation and the distribution of middleware and mobile apps. Reliance Industries has suspended the pre-booking of its newly launched 4G VoLTE feature phone, JioPhone, till further notice after demand for the device far exceeded the target of making available 5 million phones a week. “The customers can, however, register their details but we are not taking any pre-booking as of now,” said a person familiar with the matter. A message on Jio’s website – uploaded on Sunday – reads that the customers will be informed when the company resumes pre-booking. RIL and Reliance Jio Infocomm didn’t respond to an email seeking comment. The Mukesh Ambani-led firm had also offered customers the option of booking the device through the offline channels through Jio retailers and multi-brand device retailers, including the Reliance Digital stores network. In a move to encourage new users to join the network, the state-owned telecom operator Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited(BSNL) has rolled out a new Rs 298 plan. The move also takes a direct shot at Airtel's Rs 399 and Jio's Rs 349 plan. Under the FRC Rs 298 plan, BSNL is offering unlimited voice calls both STD and local across any network in India along with unlimited data for 56 days. The company has not mentioned any FUP limit for the voice calls but there is an FUP of data access. Users can access 1GB data daily, post which the internet would work but at a reduced speed of 80kbps. The validity for the plan is just for 56 days. This is a promotional plan launched by BSNL which means that the plan is applicable only on first recharge. After the launch of the LG Q6 in India, the company is likely to be all set to release the upgraded variant - the LG Q6+ in the country in early September. According to the information revealed by the Mumbai-based offline retailer Mahesh Telecom's Twitter handle, the LG Q6+ is all set to be made available offline in the first week of September. Xiaomi is all set to launch the second generation Mi Mix on September 11. The Mi Mix 2 has appeared in many leaks so far giving us an idea about its design and specs.
